the dance of the f sequence forms
unfolds
movements measured and expansive.
the grid of light and shadow through the canopy
draws long across the grass,
winds shape the reeds.
step, step, reach.
The F Sequence Textile Series is an ongoing collaboration between designer Jungil Hong and The Weaving Mill in Chicago; an exploration of complex and dynamic woven relationships that yields new plays of color with each iteration. On one face of the textile, floated weft yarns produce a two tone geometric progression, while the opposite face displays the weft densely intermingled with the stripes of the warp yarns to create a distinct pattern and texture.
Just for NAMU, Jung has prepared a Euclidean picnic and invited Watermelon Tourmaline, Cabbage Slaw and Fanta.
Cabbage Slaw is woven in purple and red 100% cotton yarns at the Weaving Mill in Chicago, and finished by hand in Providence, RI.
